Creative writing (CW) is the most academically challenging of six majors at CAPA. Courses include extensive journalism classes, fiction and non-fiction, poetry, public-speaking, play writing, etc. CW is home of some of the most intellectually-developed and opinionated students at CAPA, and is responsible, for the most part, of various school publications and events such as the United Writers and Artists magazine, and the Painted Word newspaper, as well as the written scripts of some school productions.
Currently, the creative writing department houses over seventy-five students.
